Welcome to Patagonia Wild Watching — a locally-owned birdwatching and wildlife guiding service based in Punta Arenas, Chile.
I'm Cristofer, a professional naturalist guide and veterinarian with deep roots in the Magallanes Region. Since 2013, I've been leading private birding tours and nature expeditions across southern Patagonia — from the windswept steppes and fjords of Tierra del Fuego to the soaring peaks of Torres del Paine.
Whether you're searching for the elusive Magellanic Plover, the mighty Andean Condor, or hoping to witness the raw beauty of Patagonia’s wildest corners, I’m here to help you connect deeply with nature through expertly guided, small-group experiences.
Each tour is tailor-made, combining scientific knowledge with local insight, respectful field practices, and a genuine love for birds and remote landscapes.
Let’s plan your next unforgettable journey in Patagonia.
"Cristofer served as our naturalist on board the Forrester during an excursion for ATTA's Adventure Week Tierra del Fuego. His knowledge of the local flora and fauna of the region, especially during sea kayaking and hiking to the Cabo San Isidro Light House, paired with his genuine and friendly demeanor, presented the overall trip with incredible value. Exploring the far reaches of the Magellan Strait with Cristopher as our guide was a truly remarkable experience.

I know with certainty I will use his services for future trips!"
"Cris de la Rivera is a wonderful naturalist guide. He loves the wild landscapes of Chile and closely knows the wild creatures which inhabit them. He also cares for them, and is committed to a world which is better for them and better for humans. As if all this weren't enough, he is great company with a masterful command of English and a great sense of humour."

"Cristofer De la Rivera ranks as one of my favorite tour leaders. He is knowledgeable about birds and made sure all members of our group saw the birds. He also has vast experience with seabirds and we saw many on our ferry crossing from Punta Arenas to Terra del Fuego. In addition, Cristofer is a charming host and he makes the best tailgate lunches I have ever had on a trip. Thanks Cristofer!
